Participation in the HAPathon 2023

Introduction

EDNS Domains team flew to Bangkok, Thailand last Saturday (March 25) to participate in the HAPathon competitions organized by Alibaba CloudS, PlatON Network, and HashKey Group.
EDNS was delighted to be a sponsor of the event, and Mike Ng, the CTO, had the honor of judging the promising participants from Thailand and Singapore.

What is the HAPathon 2023 ?

The HAPathon 2023 is an initiative taken jointly by Alibaba Cloud, Hash Key Group, and PlatON. The competition has four global divisions: one each of Singapore, Bangkok, Tokyo, and Hong Kong, and participants can choose the division closest to them. Focused on larger demands of the Web 3 industry, the Web 3 2023 Global Startup Competition has three categories, namely Technical Infrastructure, Financial Infrastructure, and Innovative Web3 Applications. All the winning teams in each division will gather at the Web3 Hong Kong 2023 Festival (Grand Final: April 15, 2023) to present their projects.

• Financial infrastructure provides essential support for the financial system of the Web3 world. You are required to develop secure, efficient, and creative projects based on blockchain and related technologies, thereby contributing to the sustainable development of the Web3 financial ecosystem.
• For Technical Infrastructure, outstanding developers are invited around the world to explore underlying technologies in fields including Layer 2, decentralized data storage, computation, indexing, analysis, smart contracts, developer tools, and blockchain security and build creative, practical solutions.
• Regarding Innovative Web3 Applications, outstanding developers are invited around the world to tap into their ingenuity and build creative applications to improve user experiences and bring more dynamics to the Web3 world. Contestants can build native Web2 applications or transform Web3 apps into more valuable Web3 apps using the tech features of blockchain.

The HAPathon will be held in different cities namely Singapore, Bangkok, Tokyo, and Hong Kong.

The prizes

Participants of the HAPathon will receive a reward for participating in the different sessions.
For the Singapore HAPathon, here are the winners:
1st Place: exaBITS
2nd Place: Lighthouse.storage
3rd Place: NFT Innovators

But generally, a total reward of 200.000 USDC will be distributed to the different winners as follows:

Grand Finals-World Champion *1-20,000 USDC

First Place : 1-15,000 USDC
> USD 10,000 Alibaba Cloud voucher (valid for one year)
> Travel subsidy (3,000 USDC, to attend the awards presentation on 15 April in Hong Kong)
> 100% off audit fee by Beosin
> USD 2000 credits can be used to exchange for mentorship hours, participation in SEA Anchor market access program lessons, pitch sessions, etc

Second Place : 1-10,000 USDC
> USD 10,000 Alibaba Cloud credits (valid for one year)
> Beosin accepts 50% of audit fees offset by project tokens
> USD 2000 credits can be used to exchange for mentorship hours, participation in SEA Anchor market access program lessons, pitch sessions, etc

Third Place : 1-5,000 USDC
> USD 10,000 Alibaba Cloud credits (valid for one year)
> Beosin accepts 30% of audit fees offset by project tokens
> USD 2000 credits can be used to exchange for mentorship hours, participation in SEA Anchor market access program lessons, pitch sessions, etc
> USD 2000 worth of EDNS Domains DeDrive which is a data hub enabling the data exchange between Web2 and Web3

Every team that has passed the review and is shortlisted can apply for USD 1,000 Alibaba Cloud credits for event preparation.
